L'Umana Reyer è lieta di comunicare la firma dell’accordo di collaborazione con il club sloveno Portorož Basketball Club che entra così a far parte del Progetto Reyer. Salgono dunque a 42 le società aderenti di cui 3 sono europee: il Košarkaški klub “Flumen Sancti Viti” di Rijeka, il Kosarkaski Klub Stoja di Pula e appunto il Portorož.

Il Portorož Basketball Club è stato fondato nel 1992, ma gli inizi della società di basket di Portorose risalgono al 1980, quando operava l'associazione di pallacanestro sponsorizzata dal TVD Partizan Pirano.
Il Portoroz si è sviluppato molto rapidamente dalla sua fondazione e il più grande successo della storia del club è stato raggiunto nella stagione 2012/2013 in cui la prima squadra ha vinto il titolo di campione della 2° Lega, ottenendo la promozione nella prima lega nazionale.

Oggi il club sloveno sta espandendo il settore giovanile: il club ospita attualmente circa 160 giocatori della propria regione. E' certamente una realtà ambiziosa i cui valori sono simili a quelli dell'Umana Reyer come la cura per l'educazione della persona e lo sviluppo dei giovani.
In questa stagione l'under 20 del Portorose si è classificata al primo posto nella Lega Nazionale, vincendo il proprio girone, ma anche le altre formazioni giovanili competono con successo nelle rispettive leghe.

Branko Cveticanin, Presidente del Portorož Basketball Club: "Considerata l'attenzione che poniamo nel lavorare con i giovani, per noi la collaborazione con una società come l'Umana Reyer è un premio per il lavoro svolto fino ad ora e uno stimolo per continuare a migliorare. Vogliamo conoscere il modo di lavorare di un top club, che è uno degli obiettivi più importanti per noi, in modo da poter indirizzare il nostro lavoro verso il loro livello. Vogliamo, infatti, incrementare le opportunità per i più piccoli che giocano a basket nel nostro club. Ci aspettiamo che i nostri allenatori imparino qualcosa e quindi migliorino le loro capacità. La crescita del club richiederà molto impegno e sforzo e la cooperazione è importante per superare più facilmente gli ostacoli quotidiani. Siamo dunque contenti di questa opportunità e speriamo che al torneo che organizzeremo verso fine maggio possa partecipare una selezione giovanile dell'Umana Reyer Venezia".

Umana Reyer is pleased to announce the signing of the collaboration agreement with the Slovenian club Portorož Basketball Club which joins the Reyer Project. Therefore, the member clubs rise to 42, 3 of which are European: Košarkaški klub “Flumen Sancti Viti” of Rijeka, Kosarkaski Klub Stoja of Pula and precisely Portorož.

Portorož Basketball Club was founded in 1992, but the beginnings of the Portorož basketball club date back to 1980, when used to operate the basketball organization sponsored by TVD Partizan Pirano.
Portoroz has developed very rapidly since its foundation and the greatest success in the club's history was achieved in the 2012/2013 season where the first team won the title of champion of the 2nd League, gaining promotion to the national 1st League.

Today, the Slovenian club is expanding its youth academy: the club currently hosts around 160 players from its region. It is certainly an ambitious reality whose values ​​are similar to those of Umana Reyer such as care for the education of the person and the development of youths.
This season, Portoroz's under-20s finished first in the National League, winning their group, but the other youth teams are also competing successfully in their respective leagues.

Branko Cveticanin, President of the Portorož Basketball Club: "Considering the attention we pay to working with youths, the collaboration with a company like Umana Reyer means a lot for us and it is a reward for the work done so far and a boost to continue to improve. We want to know the way a top club works, which is one of the most important goals for us, in order to be able to manage our work towards their level. We want, indeed, to increase the opportunities for the little kids who play basketball in our club. We expect our coaches to learn something and thus improve their skills. The growth of the club will require a lot of commitment and effort and cooperation is important to overcome everyday obstacles more easily. We are therefore happy with this opportunity and hope that a youth selection from Umana Reyer Venezia may participate in the tournament that we will organize towards the end of May".
